Vishwa Gujarati Samaj confers ‘Gujarat Gaurav Award’ upon distinguished Gujaratis whose exceptional achievements adds to the glory & pride of Gujarat. By now Vishwa Gujarati Samaj has selected prominent persons for their contribution and achievement in the field of social services, business achievements, cultural or academic activities. Earlier, Vishwa Gujarati Samaj has conferred this award upon renowned Gujaratis Shri Dhirubhai Ambani, Shri I G Patel, Shri Sam Pitroda (America), Ms. Fenny Ginwala (South Africa), Ms. Ilaben Bhatt, Shri Manubhai Pancholi (Darshak), Shri Varghese Kurian, Shri Zubin Mehta (Switzerland) and Freedom Fighter Dr. Usha Mehta.  Vishwa Gujarati Samaj has decided to confer this prestigious award upon Shri Govingbhai Patel, both for his social services and Business Achievements.

From the year 2007, Vishwa Gujarati Samaj has established Distinguished NRI Award to honour prominent Gujarati Diaspora for one’s self-less services to the society at large, exceptional work in their own fields and maintaining permanent link with the land of their origin – Gujarat. The contribution of Non-residents Gujaratis, both outside India and also in other states of India is significant in all facets of life be it social, cultural, educational, economical or political. The Gujarati Diaspora, while claiming throughout the world a reckonable presence, simultaneously maintained live relations with Gujarat and always responded to serve Gujarat whenever so needed. In the year 2007 Distinguished NRI Awards were conferred upon five distinguished Gujarati Diaspora selected from five continents of the world. For 2008 Distinguished NRI Award five Gujarati Diasporas are selected from comparatively small countries in size but highly significant for Gujarat’s old linkage in future relationship.

Vishwa Gujarati Samaj confers Honorary Membership upon a Gujarati for extraordinary achievement in any sphere of literature, culture, journalism, sports, public life and social services, education & politics. Since last two occasions Vishwa Gujarati Samaj has consciously selected rising Gujarati youngsters for extra ordinary achievements in field of sports or adventure or environment. After the last selection of Shri Partiv Mehta for his exceptional achievement in the field of Table Tennis at National and International level and to Mathurbhai Sawani for extraordinary work for Water Conservation and Management in Gujarat, Vishwa Gujarati Samaj has proudly chosen young Sufian Sheikh (only 17 years old) for his exceptional achievement as swimmer at national and international levels.
